Tatars - Tataarien jäljillä

Ikuisuusprojektilta tuntuva, viime vuonna Wilanovin reissulta hankittujen tataarien maalailu jatkuu. 
Lauma on ollut maalauspöydällä puoli kevättä ja sai eilen vähän yksityiskohtia - joitain valjaita ja nuolten varsia. Pari sitkeää iltaa varmaan riittäisi tämän horden tuuppaamiseen dippaus ja basetusvaiheeseen.

Kameraa kohti ratsastelee puolalisten palveluksessa olevia tataareja, keskellä Krimin tataarisotureita.

 I acquired a bunch of Tatars last year in Wilanov, some serving Polish crown others Crimean khan. They have been on painting table since spring and yesterday got their arrowshafts and reins finally painted. Couple of more evenings should see them have all horsetails and manes, boots and other small details and get them to dipping and basing stage. For some tastes they may be too colourful, this is a wealthy and brave horde with lots of loot.

Maalaus on ollut sangen hidasta. Pöydällä on ollut lähinnä merirosvohenkistä tavaraa: bermudasluuppi, jokunen Foundryn merirosvo ja maroon, sekä Redoubtin täydennyksiä.

Hermione

Once again slow going with painting. Tabel has mainly seen piraty stuff. Bermudasloop Hermione, some maroons and pirates from Foundry and Redoubt. Interesting to see how the sloop will behave in Blood and plunder - there is option of arming it with cannon or just with swivelguns.

Mielenkiintoista nähdä miten Hermione käyttäytyy Blood and Plunderissa. Joko kanuunoilla tai pelkillä nikhakoilla varustettuna ja kannet täynnä kurkunkatkojia. Roskaväkeä on tarjonnut varsinkin Foundry, jonka tarjontaan olen varsin tyytyväinen.

Cutthroats aplenty - mainly by Foundry with occasional Blood and Plunder officer in the. All very much works in progress. I really like the sculpting and casting of these guys. I noticed there was lack of gunners so I surfed a bit around and noticed offerings by redoubt. And naturally something else also got ordered. Decent sculpts, but casting was somewhat iffy. Props for seller for having been diligent with a file or knife in removing flash.

 Täydennyksiä Redoubtilta. Hyviä asentoja mutta lieneekö kuluneet muotit, kun valutyö vaikuttaa heikommalta, kasvot melko ilmeettömiltä ja flashia näyttää olleen runsaasti. Myyjälle kuitenkin kehut siitä että viilaa on paikoin käytetty paljonkin ja figut siistitty ennen lähettämistä. Viimeisessä sekaisin keskeneräistä Foundrya ja Redoubtia. Hakusessa vaaleampia ihonvärejä - niin irlantilaista punapäätä kuin maitokahvinväristä kreolia. Oppimista riittää.

 Last a mixture of wip Redoubt and Foundry figures. Trying to work on pale caucasian and cafe au lait colored caribbean skin colour. Proving to be a learning experience.
